3. An alarm icon (
) is shown in the status bar
Detailed Operation
Each alarm can be in one of four possible states:
State
Description
Inactive
The alarm is inactive (OK)
Active (fired)
The alarm is active
Waiting for
acknowledgement
A previously active alarm is not active anymore, but it has not yet
been acknowledged by the user
Waiting for sensor
deactivation
An active alarm has been acknowledged by the user, but the
alarm condition is still active
The following flowchart shows the possible transitions between states:
Detailed explanation:
-
Initially, all alarms are in idle state (“Inactive”).
-
When the alarm condition is activated (a telegram with the activation value is received in the
corresponding communication object), the alarm switches to “Active” state.
-
If an alarm is active and the alarm condition deactivates, it switches to “Waiting for
acknowledgement” state (or directly to “Inactive” if the alarm does not require any
acknowledgment).
-
If an alarm is active and the user acknowledges it, it switches to “Waiting for sensor deactivation”
state (or directly to “Inactive” if no explicit deactivation of the alarm condition is required).
