Touchscreen Terminal.  Rev 1.03  November 2009

Installation Manual.

Installing the Touchscreen Terminal

-

Choose an appropriate mounting location where the Touchscreen Terminal can
be installed on a flat, solid, vertical surface.

-

Ensure that the LCD display will be at eye level for an adult of average height.
e.g. Eye level for an average adult is approximately 165cm (65 inches).

-

Install appropriate LAN cabling from this location to a suitable point on the
existing LAN.  Note the following points:
1.  Installation of a Touchscreen Terminal may also require installation of a
separate battery-backed power supply.

See Note 1 below and “LAN wiring” on page 6.

2.  Power should not be connected to this LAN cable until installation of the
Touchscreen Terminal is complete.

-

Install the rear casing on the wall using 2 to 6 countersunk screws or bolts in
the holes provided.  Remember to insert the LAN cable through the cable entry
cutout first.

Refer to Installation template supplied on the back page.

-

Connect the LAN wiring into the Screw Terminal block T1, and fit or remove the
Termination link, J10, as required.

Refer to “Connections & Link options” and “LAN wiring” on pages 4 to 6 for
details.

-

Position the two tabs at the top of the front casing into the retaining slots at the
top of the rear casing, then lower the front casing onto the rear casing until it
clicks into place.

IMPORTANT NOTES.

1. CAUTION.  The Touchscreen Terminal draws between 200 and 300mA.

(This is approximately 6 times that of an LCD Terminal)  Ensure that an
adequate power supply source is available.

2. CAUTION.  Take care not to damage PCB tracks or components during

installation.
