connection to these terminals as this would interfere with the GFDI function.
•
Note that the negative input for DC2 (T8: DC COM) and the negative input for
DC3 (T9: DC COM: +S option only) are wired together and are electrically
common behind the Filter Chokes installed on DC2 and DC3 (+S option only).
DC Wiring Options
The DC2 Port supports either ground-referenced monopolar, or floating PV connections,
depending upon the Combiner type selected.
•
If a floating Combiner is selected, the battery connected to DC3 (30PVF+S only)
MUST also be floating, and cannot be referenced to earth ground.
•
If a ground-referenced Combiner is selected, the battery connected to DC3
(30PV+S only) will be ground-referenced,.
•
Note that there are configuration jumpers on the DC2/DC3 Interconnect Board.
These jumpers are factory configured to support either the floating, or ground-
referenced Combiner type. Do not disturb or change these connections.
•
Note that the floating and ground-referenced Combiners are unique and different
equipment designs. They are not interchangeable.
Combiner Overview
Access to both the enclosure and the Combiner requires a 3 mm Allen Wrench. The
Combiner’s DC Disconnect must be in service position (facing left) to open the Combiner
door. The DC Disconnect is “ON” when facing up or down. For lockout purposes, the DC
Disconnect must face right. The Combiner and enclosure doors are both hinged on the
left side.
Both versions of the Combiner feature three 1-inch conduit fittings located on the
Combiner bottom access panel. The conduit fittings simplify the routing and termination
of AC1 and DC3 (+S option only) power cables, as well as low-voltage control
wiring. Once routed through the Combiner, the AC and DC power is terminated on the
AC1 and DC2/DC3 interconnect boards. Low-voltage control wiring is terminated to the
control board, located on the upper left side of the enclosure. Use the left-most Conduit
fitting, as well as the two cable-guides provided in the enclosure to route and contain low-
voltage wiring.
