2.3 Host system
2.3.1
Compatibility with Host System
The MSO biometric devices are compatibles with:
Windows™ platforms using the MSO SDK or ILV Protocol (see[R2], [R3] and [R4]) for
Windows™: Windows 7 and 10
Linux platforms using the dedicated MSO SDK or ILV protocol (see[R2], [R3] and [R4])
for Linux
Android platforms using MSO SDK or ILV protocol (see[R2]and [R3]) for Android
2.3.2 Installation of a MSO USB device (MSO3xx, MSO13x0)
The installation of a MSO USB device is performed in a few steps:
Install the MSO USB driver on the PC (please refer to MSO USB driver installation
section)
Connect the USB connector of the MSO USB device to a USB port of the PC.
Wait for USB enumeration process (usually not more than a few seconds).
Then the device is ready for use, for example: with the sample applications delivered with
MSO SDK (please refer to
2.3.3 MSO SDK
The MSO Software Development Kit provides the required elements to enable you to
develop your own applications for MSO devices. It is a usually delivered on a CDROM which
contains:
all the documentation required for MSO devices use and integration,
the MSO USB driver for Windows™ PC,
sample applications which enables to demonstrate the MSO functions
source files of sample applications
libraries (dll) and ActiveX with MSO device functions
To evaluate a MSO device we recommend the following steps on a Windows™ PC:
launch MSO SDK install,
connect the MSO device to a USB port, or to a RS232 port (MSO20x only),
run MSO_Login.exe or MSO_Demo.exe sample application,
select the MSO device to use,
try MSO device functions.
