Introduction
This chapter provides information for troubleshooting NAS-2108RW and helping
you to isolate a failure to the power adapter, the case fan, the system firmware
or the NASWare flash module, the LCD module, the wireless LAN module, the
hard disks and the main board. A troubleshooting guide is also provided; it lists
possible problems, along with probable causes, and recommended actions on
how to correct each problem.
Note: For system manufactured after November 2003, the system
firmware is stored at NASWare flash module (DOM) instead of
on-board flash. Please be noticed about this change when servicing.
Who Should Perform Repairs
Only qualified service personnel should remove and replace any components of
NAS-2108RW. Repairs to the NAS-2108RW are limited to the repair level
identified in the following paragraph.
Repair Level Supported
The NAS-2108RW has the following replaceable components:
The NAS-2108RW main board
The front panel assembly, including the LCD module
The wireless LAN module
The NASWare flash module (for system manufactured after November
2003)
The top cover
The case fan
