Blood vessels and other skin structures below the surface of the skin,
provide an internal fingerprint pattern which in turn helps shape what we
see on our fingers. These surface ridges, are formed by collagen pushing
between the blood vessels in the subsurface and form what is commonly
known as the ‘true’ fingerprint.
