Sweeper Operation
WARNING
IMPACT AND INJECTION HAZARDS
Flying debris or pressurized fluids can cause serious
injury or death.
Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any
of the following conditions exist:
•
When fluids are under pressure.
•
Flying debris or loose material.
•
Engine is running.
•
Tools are being used.

If the debris is packed (or stuck) on the surface and the
broom will not sweep it up, reverse broom rotation. Lower
the cutting edge to the surface and move the machine
backward. The attachment cutting edge will scrape the
surface while the broom sweeps the debris into the
bucket.
1.
Keep bystanders away at least 3 m (10 ft) when the
sweeper is in operation.
2.
Enter the loader.
(See Entering And Exiting The Machine on Page 14)
3.
Start the engine and disengage the parking brake.
4.
Raise the sweeper attachment just off the ground
and move to the starting point.
NOTE:
Your machine and attachment and / or implement
models may vary, but the procedure is the same.

5.
Engage the auxiliary hydraulics. (See your
machine’s Operation & Maintenance Manual for
correct procedure.)
6.
Lower the loader lift arms and use the tilt function to
level the sweeper to the working surface.
7.
Move the engine control speed to desired rpm.
8.
For forward travel, ensure the cutting edge (Item 1)
[Figure 33] of the sweeper bucket is level and just
above the surface allowing the brushes to be in
contact with the surface [Figure 32]. Operate the
sweeper brush in the counter clockwise direction.
9.
For reverse travel, lower the cutting edge to the
surface and operate the sweeper brush in the
clockwise direction [Figure 34]
10. To stop brush rotation, disengage the auxiliary
hydraulics. (See your machine’s Operation &
Maintenance Manual for correct procedure.)
