Abnormality in exhaust gas temperature
(1)
Reduced exhaust gas
temperature
a) Faulty temperature sensor
b) Faulty fuel valve (stuck needles)
c) Faulty fuel oil system
a) Check the pyrometer and its
mounting conditions.
b) Replace fuel valves.
c) Quickly take necessary measure so
that the trouble will not reach
fuel valves.

Elevated exhaust gas temperature
a) Unsuitable load
b) Faulty cooling of suction air
c) Excessive suction resistance of
suction air
d) Application of back pressure
from exhaust system.
e) Malfunction of turbo charger.
f) Burning of exhaust valve.
a) Observe fuel injection pump rack
position and check load conditions.
b) Increase cooling water.
c) Inspect the air filter.
d) Check if protective food has been
removed from exhaust outlet.
e) Check if the turbo charger is normally
operating. (Refer to Section 5.4.4 (3))
f) Replace exhaust valve and valve seat.
