GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow these safety instructions. Safety is a combination of common sense, staying alert and
knowing how your machine works. Read thoroughly and become familiar with the entire operating
manual to learn the machine’s applications, limitations and possible hazards.
1.
Keep guards in place and in working order.
2.
Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
wrenches are removed from the machine before turning it on.
3.
Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas and benches invite accidents. Floor must not be slippery.
4.
Do not use the machine in dangerous environment. Only use the machine in a dry, indoor place
protected from rain. Never use the machine near flammable liquids, vapours or gases. Keep
work area well lit.
5.
Keep children away. All visitors should be kept at a safe distance from work area. Children or
disabled people are not allowed to use the machine.
6.
Make workshop childproof with padlocks, master switches etc.
7.
Do not force the machine. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was de-
signed.
8.
Use the right machine. Do not force the machine or attachments to do a job it was not designed
to do.
9.
Wear proper apparel. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, rings, bracelet or other jew-
ellery which may get caught in moving parts. Roll long sleeves above the elbow. Non-slip foot-
wear is recommended. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
10.
Always wear approved safety glasses and hearing protectors. Also use face or dust mask if the
sanding operation is dusty. Everyday eyeglasses only have impact resistant lenses, they are not
safety glasses.
11.
Avoid awkward hand positions where a sudden slip could cause your fingers or hand to move
into the sanding belt. Keep fingers away from where the belt goes into the dust trap.
12.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
13.
Maintain tools with care. Keep the machine clean for best and safest performance. Follow in-
structions for lubrication and changing accessories.
