Removing the attachment from the upper shaft
(Fig. 3)
Disconnect the upper shaft and underneath shaft for
storage or when a job calls for a different attachment.
Follow these steps to remove the attachment from the
upper shaft.
1. Release the trigger (13) and allow the trimmer to
coast to a stop.
2. Unplug the brush cutter.
3. Loosen the wing nut (24) by turning it counterclock-
wise.
4. Push the button, while pulling out the attachment.
Attaching the front handle
(Fig. 4)
Follow these steps to attach the front handle:
1. Press the front handle (58) onto the upper shaft.
2. Place the front handle along the upper shaft to a posi-
tion that allows for comfortable operation.
3. Slide the bolt (19) through the hole in the barrier
handle (18) and front handle.
4. Slide the bolt (57) through the quick open button (56)
and the hole in bolt (19) and tighten it securely.
Adjusting front handle
(Fig. 5)
1. Loosen the Quick Open Button (56) by turning it as
Fig.5 shown.
2. Adjust the sencond handle.
3. Locking the Quick Open Button (56) by turning it as
Fig.5 shown.
Note:
During operation, periodically check the Quick
Open Button (56) and tighten as necessary.
Attachment the safety guard
(Fig. 6)
Follow these steps to attach the brush cutter guard:
1. Attach the blade guard (31) to the mounting bracket
(46).
2. Install two screws (47) from the top of the mount-
ing bracket through the blade guard and into the
threaded mounting plates (30).
3. Attach the trimmer guard (32) to the blade guard (31).
7. Converting from grass trimmer to brush-
cutter
Removing the string head
(Fig. 7)
•
Align the slot in the upper flange washer (78) with the
hole in the gear head (44). Place a holding pin through
the slot in the upper flange washer and the hole in the
gear head.
• Remove the cutting line head unscrewing it in a clock-
wise direction.
Attention:
Left-hand thread!
•
Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for blade installation.
• Remove the grass trimmer guard
(Fig. 6).
Note:
Store the string head parts together for later use.
Installing the blade
(Fig. 8 and 9)
•
Place the upper flange washer (78) over the gear shaft
with the hollow side towards the blade guard.
•
Centre the blade on the upper flange, making sure the
blade sits flat
(Fig. 9A). Install the cupped washer (76)
with the raised centre away from the blade. Install the
blade nut (77). The blade (75) turns counter clock wise
from the operator’s position.
• Place the holding pin (73) through the slot in the upper
flange washer and the hole in the gear head.
• Using a 19 mm socket wrench (72), turn the blade nut
counterclockwise.
• Tighten nut securely.
• To double-check that the blade (75) is correctly po-
sitioned on the upper flange plate (78) and properly
centred, look at the flange plate from side on. If the
blade is fitted correctly, there will be no gap visible
between the outer diameter of the plate (78) and the
blade (75) (Fig. 9A).
• If a gap is visible, the blade is not centred (Fig. 9B).
In this case, loosen the nut (77) again, position the
blade correctly and retighten the nut. Never use this
machine with the blade incorrectly positioned.
• Slide the safety split pin (79) through the hole in the
drive shaft (Fig. 8).
• Install the brushcutter guard.
Converting from brushcutter to grass trimmer
removing the blade
• Place the holding pin through the slot in the upper
flange washer and the gear head. Turn the blade nut
clockwise to remove.
• Remove the cupped washer and the blade.
•
Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft
and retain for the string head installation.
• Remove the brushcutter guard.
Note:
Store the brushcutter parts together for later use.
Installing the string head
(Fig. 6 and 7)

Install the upper flange washer
(78) onto the gear
shaft with the hollow side towards the gear head.
• Place the holding pin (73) through the slot in the upper
Flange washer and the hole in the gear head.
• Fit the cutting line head screwing it up in an anticlock-
wise direction.
Attention:
Left-hand thread!
• Install the grass trimmer guard (32).
8. Operation
WARNING:
The product may throw objects during
operation, causing injury to the operator or to by
standers. Always wear suitable eye protection,
boots, gloves and long, heavy trousers while op-
erating the product.
Starting and stopping the trimmer
(Fig. 1)
• To start the trimmer: press the lock button (16) and
then press the trigger (13). Release the lock button
once the motor has started.
• To stop the trimmer: Release the trigger.
This machine is equipped with a speed controller that
switches the motor to full working speed in a few seconds
after a gentle start (4000 min
-1
(rpm)).
