NOTICE: If power steering fluid is not visible, contact your Ilmor High-
Performance Marine service center immediately. Severe engine damage
could occur.
NOTE: Power steering fluid does not require changing. Review the
Maintenance Schedule on page 7-1 for further details.
For remote power steering reservoir systems, see the boat manufacturer’s
manual for proper maintenance instructions, or contact your authorized
Ilmor service center for assistance.
CHANGE THE AIR FILTER/SPARK
ARRESTOR
Ilmor recommends the air filter/spark arrestor be changed every 100 hours
or annually, whichever comes first.
1. Ensure the engine is OFF and the engine safety starting switch is
disconnected. The engine must be cool.
2. Disconnect the air temperature sensor and remove the breather tube
from the air filter/spark arrestor.
3. Loosen the clamps and gently remove the air filter/spark arrestor.
Properly discard of the air filter/spark arrestor per local regulations.
4. Carefully install the new air filter/spark arrestor. Make sure the air
filter/spark arrestor is seated properly prior to tightening the clamps.
5. Reconnect the air temperature sensors and breather tube.
NOTE: The air filter and spark arrestor are pre-oiled from the manufacturer.
No other oils are required for this part replacement.
