Grooming - Mapping
Grooming refers to the process of grouping specific input programs and services from multiple sources
into different packages, such as customized channel lineups for subscribers. Using guidelines provided
in this chapter, you can select-and-drag transport streams or programs from the input column into
specific output GigE/ASI interfaces, transport streams or programs.
Use the
Mapping
tab screen (
) to manage your grooming operations (
) for the BNP
GigE ports.

The
Inputs
panel of the
Mapping
tab screen displays all existing transport streams, program
names, and elementary streams for input on BNP ports.

The
Outputs
panel of the
Mapping
tab screen displays output content after you apply input data
into entities at the output panel. You can do this by using either of the following two methods:

Use the popup menu from an entity at the
Outputs
panel to create an transport stream or
program.

Drag and drop input transport streams or programs into specific entities at the
Outputs
panel.
The GigE ports that you configured (as described in “GigE Port Configuration” on page 44) are shown
in the
Inputs
(left) column, and color coded in accordance with current status:
