4.a PRIMARY AIR CHECK
In many cases, the presence of the alarm NO FLAME is due to the wrong mixing of gas and air inside of the
cylindric burners.
The main risk is that the amount of primary air is too high compared to the amount of gas. In this situation,
the starting will not happen easily and it may take several attempts to get the complete and definitive ignition.
Therefore, verify the position of the collar that regulates the entry of primary air and compare with those
reported in the tables on page 21, under the column "Air Intake Position".
To ensure all proceed as follows:
- Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the dryer;
- Position on the left side of the machine in the vicinity of the primary air intake of the burner;
- Close the primary air intake with the hands as can be seen in the photos and start the machine.
- Start the machine having the certainty that the fan is working and rotates in the correct direction;
- Check the ignition and the mantaining of the flame:
o
If the flame remains lit and does not appear the error "NO FLAME", the problem is in the
carburizing gas/air, especially in the type of gas with low heating power (eg. Propaned Air). It
may be necessary to replace the nozzles.
o
If the flame does not stay on and the error "NO FLAME" appears again, the problems could
be:
The clogging of the burner or burners;
Lack of SECONDARY AIR or problems in the air intake or at exhaust pipe;
The spark plug is not correctly positioned over the holes of the burner or the
distance between the spark and the burner is too high.
4.b SECONDARY AIR CHECK
In certain conditions, where the characteristics of the gas only guarantee a minimum yield of the burner (low
gas supply pressure, very low heat of combustion), the nominal passage of air between the windows of the
burner can be a reason for the sudden extinction of the flame.
In essence, the already weak flame is turned off by the nominal air sucked from the dryer.
