Active Monitor Speaker

These instructions are intended for users 
with basic knowledge in audio techno- 
logy. Please read the instructions carefully 
prior to operation and keep them for later 
reference.

1  Applications

This compact speaker is ideally suited as a 
monitor speaker on stage, but it can also be 
used for other sound applications, e. g. as a 
support speaker in large sound systems. It 
is equipped with two 10 cm (4”) neodymi-
um speakers and a class D power amplifier 
and features an input for microphones and 
signal sources with line level.

2  Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all relevant direc-
tives of the EU and is therefore marked 
with  .

WARNING

The unit uses dangerous 
mains voltage. Leave servic-
ing to skilled personnel only: 
Risk of electric shock!

• 

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. 
Protect it against dripping water, splash 
water and high air humidity. The ad-
missible ambient temperature range is 
0 – 40 °C.

• 

Do not place any vessel filled with liquid 
on the unit, e. g. a drinking glass.

• 

Do not operate the unit and immediate-
ly disconnect the mains plug from the 
socket 

1. if the unit or the mains cable is visibly 

damaged,

2. if a defect might have occurred after 

the unit was dropped or suffered a 
similar accident,

3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case, the unit must be repaired by 
skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect 
the mains plug from the socket, always 
seize the plug.

• 

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; 
never use water or chemicals.

• 

No guarantee claims for the unit and no 
liability for any resulting personal dam-
age or material damage will be accepted 
if the unit is used for other purposes than 
originally intended, if it is not correctly 
connected or operated, if it is not se-
curely installed, or if it is not repaired in 
an expert way.

If the unit is to be put out of 
operation definitively, take it to 
a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the 
environment.

3  Overview

LED LIMITER: will light up when the 
level limiter has been activated

Control VOLUME

CAUTION

Never adjust a very high 
volume. Permanent high 
volumes may damage 
your hearing!

When the volume is too high, the auto- 
matic level limiter will be activated to 
protect the speaker; the LED LIMIT-
ER (2) will light up.

XLR jack LINK (OUT) to route the input 
signal that has been fed to the jack 
LINE / MIC INPUT (6) to an additional  
active speaker system, for example

Input jack LINE / MIC INPUT to connect a 
microphone via the XLR jack or to con-
nect a signal source with line level (e. g. 
output of a mixer) via the 6.3 mm jack
Both types of jack are balanced, but it is 
also possible to connect a signal source 
with unbalanced output (e. g. musical 
instrument with 2-pole 6.3 mm plug). 

Mains switch to switch the speaker on /
off

Mains jack; use the mains cable pro- 
vided to connect the speaker to a mains 
socket  (230 V/ 50 Hz)

4  Installation

The speaker can be set up on a flat sur-
face (e. g. floor or table), but it also of-
fers various options for installation. There 
is an M10 threaded hole (A, B) on two 
sides. Alternatively, use the clip provided: 
Attach the clip to the two M6 screws (C) 
and clamp, for example, the tube of a  
microphone stand onto the rear of the 
speaker system (

 figure).
