• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the product.
• Cleaning and maintenance may not be car-
ried out by children.
• Never allow children or people unfamiliar
with the instructions to use the machine.
• Have your dealer or a specialist show you
how to operate your trimmer.
• Local regulations may restrict the age of the
operator.
• Before use, examine the cable for signs of
damage, or ageing. Do not use the product
if the electric cables are damaged or worn.
• Arrange the extension cord so that it can-
not be damaged and does not cause a
hindrance.
• If the cord is damaged during utilisation,
it must be disconnected immediately from
the mains. DO NOT TOUCH THE CABLE
BEFORE YOU HAVE DISCONNECTED IT
FROM THE MAINS, since damaged cable
result in contact with live parts.
• Only use a weatherproof extension cord with
a connector unit according to IEC 60320-2-3.
• Only extension cords of type H05W-F,
H05RN-F or IEC (60227 IEC 53, 60245 IEC
57) may be used.
• If you want to use an extension cable when
operating your product, only the following
cable dimensions should be used:
– 1.0 mm

– 1.5 mm

– 2.5 mm

: max. length 100 m
• Note: If an extension cable is used it must be
earthed and connected through the plug to
the earth cable of your supply network in ac-
cordance with prescribed safety regulations.
• Couplings and plugs must be splashwater-
proof.
• Make sure to have a safe stand when work-
ing on inclines.
• Move the tool at walking speed only.
• Inspect the collection bag regularly. If the
collection bag becomes worn or damaged,
replace.
• Warning! Do not touch moving dangerous
parts before the mains plug has been un-
plugged and the moving dangerous parts
have come to a complete standstill.
• Warning! NEVER use the machine in bad
weather, particularly, if there is a risk of
lightning!
• Warning! Never operate the machine with
defective safety equipment or covers or
without safety equipment.
• Keep the extension cord away from moving
dangerous parts to avoid damage to the
cables, which can result in contact with live
parts.
• Do not operate the machine barefoot or
while wearing open sandals. Avoid wearing
loose fitting clothing or clothing with hanging
strings or ties.
• Operate the machine in the recommended
position and only on a firm, level surface.
• Prior to use, always perform a visual inspec-
tion to determine whether the shredder, the
bolts of the shredder and other fasteners are
secured, that the housing is not damaged
and that the safety equipment and protec-
tive screens are mounted. Replace worn or
damaged components in sets to maintain
the balance. Replace damaged or unread-
able labels.
• Prior to starting the machine, make sure that
the feeding unit is empty.

Keep your face and body away from the fill

ing opening.
• Make sure your hands, other body parts or
clothing are not in the feeing unit, the dis-
charge channel or in the vicinity of moving
parts.
• When feeding material, never stand on a
level that is higher than the level of the ma-
chine base.
• When operating the machine, do not remain
in the discharge zone.
• When feeding material into the machine, use
extreme caution to make sure that no metal
pieces, stones, bottles, cans or other foreign
objects enter the machine.
• Do not let processed material accumulate
in the discharge zone, since it can prevent
proper discharge and result in material being
fed into the unit again via the filling opening.
• Switch the machine off and unplug the mains
plug if the machine is blocked before clear-
ing debris from it.
• Keep the power source free of debris and
other accumulations to prevent it from being
damaged or a possible fire.
