310 MGCP/SCTP/IUA
Configuration
Procedure
To Enable IUA gateway debug monitors
Mode
administrator exec
Command
Purpose
Step 1
node
(cfg)#debug gateway iua [iua]
detail-level
Displays information about status changes of
the IUA gateway and about IUA messages
itself. The parameter detail-level defines
verbosity and can range from 1 through 6
The detail level ranges from 0 to 4. A configured detail-level includes also the printouts of all lower
levels.
level 0 = errors only
level 1 = management information
level 2 = signaling primitives between IUA and ISDN
level 3 = memory management information
level 4 = message flow information
Example: Check ISDN S0 interface
When attaching a phone to one of the (configured) ISDN ports and lifting the receiver should
indicate debug monitor messages similar to the following:
00:09:24
IUA
> ISDN to IUA: dataInd, slot 0, port 0
00:09:24
IUA
> ISDN to IUA: dataInd, slot 0, port 0
Example: Monitor SCTP / IUA startup procedure
In order to monitor what is going on in the SmartNode when the SCTP and IUA modules are started
up proceed as follows:
SN(gw-iua)[IUA]#
debug gateway iua 2
SN(gw-iua)[IUA]#
debug sctp-event 1
SN(gw-iua)[IUA]#
no shutdown
31.10 Example
The following example shows how to configure a SmartNode in an MGCP environment. Figure 31-2
shows the scenario.
