A portion of the motor drive circuitry
may have failed. If this occurs, it is usually
possible to see darkened traces on the
back of the circuit board at the very bottom
portion of the board. Or the large white
resistor on the back, R10, may be damaged
or have dark lines coming from behind the
resistor.
•
Replace the main control board (QM23004) and the
thermal insulator material behind the drive transistors
(QM13267). Be sure the region behind the drive
transistors is clean and clear of any metal filings. If
metal filings get into the insulator material, it can
cause a short between the drive transistors and the
casting and cause the same issue to occur again. Also
be sure not to overtighten the metal clamping bar
over the transistors as this could also cause the same
failure. Tighten those screws firmly, but not so tight
that the insulator is overly compressed or damaged.
For more information, see
Section 25, Main Control
Board
.
Motor has failed. (least likely)
•
Replace the motor according to the instructions in
Section 30, Drive Motor
.
Front display will not completely boot. It
freezes before getting to the Infinity console
screen.
Corrective Measure(s)
The display memory may have been
corrupted.
•
The display will need to be re-imaged at the factory.
Return to the factory for reimaging.
X-encoder not functioning, No Rear Display
power and/or rear switches not working
Corrective Measure(s)
The rear 20-pin cable assembly may have
pulled loose from the rear panel board.
•
Remove the rear panel (
Section 21, Plastic Panels
) and
press the 20-pin connector firmly in place. Check for
any damage to the cable.
