Check Thread Guides and Stirrup
Test the condition of the thread guides (#1 thread guide, #2 three hole thread guide, #3 Thread stirrup,
#4 lower thread guide, and #5 needle bar thread guide) for any abrasions, cuts, or electroplating blistering.
Test each guide by flossing it with thread, left to right and front to back in all directions. Check for any sharp
defects that may damage or cut the thread.
To correct any damaged thread guides
•
Use a 2.5mm hex tool to replace thread guides #1 and #4, and the needle bar thread guide (#5), if
damaged. Use a 7mm wrench to replace the three-hold thread guide (#2) and thread stirrup (#3).
NOTE
: The nut is on the inside of the front cover.
4. Top Thread Tension
Â
IMPORTANT
: Home sewing machines release the top tension whenever the presser foot is raised.
The HQ Infinity machine does not have any presser bar lever or top tension release mechanism.
Also the thread is wrapped around the bottom of the top tension assembly into the tension disks.
The top thread will never fall uphill into the tight tension disks. The only way for the threads to get
into the top tension disks if one pulls it or flosses it up into the disks. If the thread is not in the top
tension disks, thread nests or very poor tensions will occur.
