16. MOUNTING THE INFRARED

ILLUMINATOR

The TD50L includes an optional Infrared Illuminator that can be used

to supplement available light when conditions require. To use the

Illuminator, you must first install it onto the included QD mount:

1.  Install the body of the Illuminator into the smaller-diameter end

of the mount and use the included Allen wrench to tighten the

two screws until snug.

2.  Open the larger-diameter end of the Illuminator mount by

loosening the tension arm on the top of the mount.

3.  Place the open end of the mount around the body of the TD50L,

ensuring that the placement will not impair the operation of the

scope or weapon, and tighten the tension arm to secure it.

4.  Twist the tension arm to adjust tension, as needed.

To turn the Illuminator on and adjust the beam angle:

1.  Turn the tail switch to cycle between the three available power

levels (low, medium, and high output).

2.  Once a suitable power lever is selected, adjust the beam path by

turning the bezel of the Illuminator (flood to beam).

3.  Using the included Allen wrench, slightly loosen the two screws

on the small side of the mount holding the Illuminator in place.

4.  Adjust the Illuminator by pointing it so that the beam lands in

the desired position in your sight picture, and retighten the two

screws.

CAUTION:

Never look directly into the beam of the Illuminator to

check operation. The Illuminator uses concentrated infrared light,

which while not visible to the human eye, can cause permanent

physical damage.
