1. Safety and EMC instructions
Please strictly comply with all operating instructions in this manual. Keep this manual
in a safe place and read the following instructions carefully before installing the unit.
Do not operate this unit before carefully reading all warnings and operating
instructions.
IMPORTANT!
Installing and connecting UPSs in a way that does not comply with accepted practices releases Infosec
Communication from any liability.
1.1. Transportation and Storage
Only transport the UPS system in the original package to protect it against shocks and impacts.
The UPS must be stored in a room that is ventilated and dry.
1-2. Preparation
Condensation may occur if the UPS system is moved directly from a cold to a warm environment. The
UPS system must be absolutely dry before being installed. Please allow at least two hours for the UPS
system to acclimatize to the environment.
Do not install the UPS system near water or in a damp environment.
Do not install the UPS system where it could be exposed to direct sunlight or near a heater.
Do not block ventilation holes in the UPS housing.
Do not block the air ventilation holes in the UPS housing. The UPS must be installed in a
location with good ventilation or with air-conditioning. Make sure there is enough space
on each side for ventilation. Ideally, the room temperature must not exceed 20°C and
0-90% non-condensing humidity.
1-3. Installation
Do not connect appliances or devices which would overload the UPS (e.g. large motor-type
equipment) to its output sockets or terminal.
Do not connect domestic appliances such as hair dryers to UPS outlets.
Place cables in such a way that no one can step on or trip over them.
The UPS provides a grounded terminal, in the final installed system configuration and equipotential
ground bonding to the external UPS battery cabinets.
The UPS may only be installed by qualified maintenance personnel.
An appropriate disconnection device for short-circuit backup protection should be provided in the
building wiring installation.
An integral single emergency switching device to prevent further supply to the load by the UPS
regardless of the mode of operation should be provided in the building wiring installation.
Connect the ground before connecting to the building wiring terminal.
Installation and wiring must be performed in accordance with local electrical laws and regulations.
