There are various formats that are defined by the IEEE POSIX standard.
innovaphone equipment can access the POSIX time zone using DHCP. For further
information on the DHCP-Client and POSIX TZ see Appendix D: “The innovaphone
DHCP Client” from page 152.
For most practical purposes however, the following description is sufficient
(based on a translation from the FAQ list of the Linux Samba package):
Posix TZ strings have the following form (optional parts in square brackets):
StdOffset[Dst[Offset],Date/Time,Date/Time]

pean Time

Offset
specifies the time difference between the time zone and
UTC
, e.g.

for Central European time. The difference is negative if
the time zone is ahead of UTC, therefore
-1
for Central European
time. If the time difference does not only include full hours, the
number of minutes can be added, for example
-1:30
.
