Enable T.38
fax proto-
col
Voice connections used for transmitting a fax are transmitted
using the special
Fax over IP
protocol
T.38
. Otherwise fax
transmissions are not treated specially.
We always recommend this option unless compatibility prob-
lems occur with third party products.
fake con-
nect
This is used to signal a connection to the calling party as soon
as
in-band
information is received from the called party even
though no connection has yet been established. This could,
for example, be ring tones or network fault announcements.
Some VoIP devices only activate the voice channel once the
connection has been established. In such cases, announce-
ments made previously cannot be heard by the caller. This
option resolves the problem.
Only use this option for VoIP devices showing this problem.
Suppress
sending of
HLC
Prevents the transmission of so called
high layer
compati-
bility (HLC)
information elements. This is required if the
receiving VoIP device responds erroneously to
HLCs
. Other-
wise the HLCs are forwarded transparently by the gatekeeper.
Only use this option if a VoIP device with this kind of fault
needs to be used. Do not use this option when linking PBX
systems via innovaphone gateways, since otherwise under
certain circumstances important information could be lost.
Suppress
sending of
FTY
Prevents the transmission of so called
facility (FTY)
mes-
sages. This is required if the receiving VoIP device responds
erroneously to
FTYs
. Otherwise the
FTYs
are forwarded
transparently by the gatekeeper.
Only use this option if a VoIP device with this kind of fault
needs to be used. Do not use this option when linking PBX
systems via innovaphone gateways, since otherwise under
certain circumstances important information could be lost.
