innovaphone IP DECT

Introduction
This manual describes the innovaphone-Gateway IP6000. Within the
innovaphone product portfolio, the VoIP gateway IP6000 is the gateway for ISDN
primary rate interfaces. It serves as a link between traditional telephony and IP
telephony, connecting them through up to 2 PRI lines. Systems with an IP6000
serving as the basis for innovaphone's PBX can manage up to 1000 extensions.
1.1
Scalable in both directions
The new license model means innovaphone gateways can be tailored exactly to
the real, current needs but remain extendable for the future. The interfaces can
thus be activated separately, the number of voice channels can be assigned and
the media gateway application can be defined. Should the 60 channels provided
by one box not suffice, then several IP 6000s may be interconnected. The
additional ISDN connections will then be managed centrally and used as if
provided by just one device.
1.2
Connection option
The gateway can be used with several different configurations. Both PRI
interfaces may be switched to ISDN, thus providing 60 lines simultaneously. Two
of the PRI connections can be switched to the network to loop through the
outside lines of traditionsl telephone systems ot to cascade to redundant
systems. The additional two PRI interfaces may then provide these ISDN access
to further devices. The IP6000's PRI interfaces can be configured to hand over
the PRI connections even when the power supply is unavailable.
1.3
Two Ethernet interfaces guarantee flexible use
The IP6000 has two separate Ethernet interfaces. They can be individually
addressed and may take over routing functions between two networks. The
second Ethernet interface can be used for the connection to the second switch
in redundant design network switches. The second interface may also be used
as a console port. If the second port is provided with a fixed IP address, a PC can
be connected directly to this port for administration.
