Smart Busses (SBus)
For stereo, LCR or LCRM Auxes, Groups and Masters the
console uses a similar principle to Smart Faders in order to
control multi-channel outputs from very few physical faders.
The individual component channels (LCRM) are controlled from
a single Smart VCA fader. When the Smart VCA is selected
(
SEL
active), its slave channels are deployed into a pre-
configured zone - the Smart Bus zone (SBus):
Configuration
Smart Busses are configured when you define a stereo, LCR or
LCRM Aux, Group or Master. There are two stages to the
configuration:
•
Define the Smart Bus VCA and XBus zone
–
configured from the
Personal Console Builder
. Groups
and Auxes share the same XBus zone, and the zone
can be two faders (LR), three faders (LCR) or four
faders (LCRM) depending on the widest Aux or Group
you have configured. If you wish to use multiple Smart
Bus Masters, then you will need a separate XBus zone.
•
Patch the Smart Bus Outputs
– from the
PATCH
OUTPUT
display. Here you can patch each Smart Bus
slave channel to its physical outputs.
In this section we will deal with the operation of Smart Bus
VCAs and slave channels. If you don’t have any Smart Busses
on your console, then please see Page 203.
