Configuring Outlook Express for email forwarding
Elite uses Outlook Express (simple mapi) to generate email messages to the
mailbox owner. It is not necessary to create an account on your mail server for
the InnLine system, but the mail server must be able to accept mail from it. This
is typically done by adding the voicemail system’s IP address to the mail server’s
white list.
Step 1 – Add a new Internet Account
Launch Outlook Express. Click on
Tools>Accounts
. Click the
Add
button, and
select
. The Internet Connection Wizard will be launched. In the first
window, it will ask for the Display Name. Enter the name

.
The next screen will want to know what the email address of the voicemail
system is. Enter
Elitevm@
your company’s organizational name. Click
Next
to
continue.
The next screen will want to know what your mail servers name for both
incoming and outgoing mail. This usually starts off with
mail.yourcompanyname.com
The next screen will want to know the account name and password. Enter
Elitevm
as the account name and leave the password field blank and the
“Remember password” box checked. Click
Next
to continue.
The Internet Connection Wizard will offer it’s congratulations on entering all the
required information. Click
Finish
.
Close the Internet Accounts window.
Close the Outlook Express application.
Step 2 – Test the systems ability to send an email
From within the voicemail application, you can send a test email. To reach this
option, click the
Do
button in the 2020 mail screen and then select
Configure
System.
In the next screen, highlight
Mailboxes
in the system tree.

Double-click the
Test Email
icon. In the next window, enter a valid email
address, and change (if so desired) the text in the
Subject
field, and the text
in the body of the form.
