The Intel
®
Server Board SE7500WV2 includes onboard connectors to provide communication with the server chassis
front panel to support the following functions:
•
Power control button:
The power control button connects to the Intelligent Platform Management Bus (IPMB)
through the front panel connector to communicate power control requests to the baseboard management controller
(BMC).
•
System reset button:
The system reset button also connects to the IPMB through the front panel connector to
communicate a request for a hard reset of the system.
•
NMI button:
Pressing the non-maskable interrupt (NMI) button sends a request for an NMI to the BMC which then
sends an NMI to the processor. This is typically only used for diagnostic purposes.
•
LED
indicators:
The front panel connector provides power to a series of individual LEDs installed in the server
chassis front panel, including the power, system fault, hard drive and network traffic LEDs.
•
Secondary video connector:
The front panel connector provides a connection between the onboard video controller
and the secondary video connector located on the front panel of either the Intel Server Chassis SR1300 or SR2300.
Three separate front panel connectors are available for use on the Intel Server Board SE7500WV2:
•
High-density 100-pin connector:
The Intel Server Board SE7500WV2 includes a multifunction high-density
connector onboard that provides connections for the floppy disk drive, front panel, secondary video port and IDE
devices. This connector is designed specifically for installing the SE7500WV2 into an Intel Server Chassis SR1300
or SR2300.
•
Server system integration (SSI) 24-pin connector:
The Intel Server Board SE7500WV2 also includes an SSI-
compliant 24-pin connector for installing the board into an SSI-compliant third-party reference chassis.
•
Alternate 34-pin connector:
A special 34-pin connector is also included on the Intel Server Board SE7500WV2 for
specialized future applications of the board.
