stomach or other soft tissue areas! Feed the safety belt through the buckle of
the pelvic brace and pull it tight enough that the patient sits firmly in the de-
scribed sitting position (with the lower back pressed against the seat back). If
this is uncomfortable for the patient, the pelvic brace should be loosened. Keep
in mind that the seat shell can open more easily when the pelvis is in continu-
ous contact with the pelvic brace. It may take time to work up to tolerating the
amount of pressure necessary to fitting the belt properly. This is accomplished
by beginning with less pressure and gradually increasing the pressure until the
belt lies firmly and correctly.

Pressure pads for breast and shoulder
The breast and shoulder pressure pads are used to fix the upper body of the
patient. The use is described in the next two paragraphs.
Attention:
Adjustments should always be done from the hard back of the shell
through the

belt clamps.
Requirement:
The person is already sitting in the seatshell, the pressure pads
are laying backwards on the shell rim.
Please proceed as follows:
Bring the shoulder pads to the front. The head is now between the belts.
On the bottom part of the breast and shoulder pressure pads you find two
belt clams to fix the belts.
Open the black clamp.
Push the belt in between the movable flap and the fixed part of the respec-
tive side that comes out between the seat and the back.
Pull the belt as far as possible, hold it and fold the flap of the clamp back
into the fixed part.
The belt is now fixed.
To open the lock, lift the flap of the clamp and pull the belt.
Repeat the process for the second belt.
To loosen the fixation of the breast and shoulder pressure pads, proceed in
opposite direction.

are fixed.
