Adjusting the parking brake
Tool:
Size
8
spanner
Prerequisite:
Insufficient braking power of the parking brake; MINY can be
pushed even though the parking brake is applied
To adjust the parking brake, proceed as follows:
Make sure that the parking brake is not applied; if necessary, release the
parking brake (see section
7

8

2
)
The Bowden cables of the parking brakes are routed through an adjusting
bolt before the brake backing plates, which allows an adjustment of the
braking power (Fig
20
)
By turning this bolt anti-
clockwise, the brake cable is
brought under greater
tension, pre-tensioning the
brake The adjusting bolt is
secured by a nut
Before adjusting the brake,
release the securing nut by
turning it to the left
(depending on the version,
a size
8
spanner may be re-
quired)
