CK61 (NI) Compliance Insert

Important Operating Instructions

The Model CK61 Non-Incendive (NI) mobile computer has been qualified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc., to the requirements of the 
USA and Canada for use in Class I, Division 2-Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 2-Groups F and G; Class III, Division 2, and Non-
Hazardous locations only. The CK61NI has a T6 temperature code.

This product carries the following approvals. The users of this product are cautioned to use accessories and peripherals approved by Intermec 
Technologies Corporation. The use of accessories other than those recommended, or changes to this product that are not approved by 
Intermec Technologies Corporation, may void the compliance of this product and may result in the loss of the user’s authority to operate the 
equipment.

Warnings and Cautions

The following additional warnings and cautions must be observed for the safety of the operator and others in potentially hazardous locations:

The CK61NI must only be used when the ambient temperature is between -20°C and +50°C (-4°F and +122°F).

The CK61NI may NOT be connected to any of its available accessories while in potentially hazardous locations. This includes anything 
that uses the communications docking connector, headset, or microphone jacks. All allowed connections must be made while outside of 
the potentially hazardous location.

The use of CompactFlash, Secure Digital, and SIM Cards in the CK61NI while in potentially hazardous locations is permitted as long as 
these cards are not removed or changed while in the hazardous location.

Any connector cover removed while in ordinary locations must be reinstalled prior to entering a Class II or III potentially hazardous 
location.

FCC Digital Emissions Compliance

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. 
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates 
uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference 
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does 
cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is 
encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

Reorient or relocate the radio or television receiving antenna.

Increase the separation between the computer equipment and receiver.

Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the radio or television receiver is connected.

Consult the dealer or an experienced radio television technician for help.

Warning: 

Explosion Hazard–Substitution of components may impair suitability for Division 2, Class I, II, and 

III locations.

Note

: This unit has no operator replaceable parts other than the battery pack. Repair of the CK61NI unit must be 

performed by trained Intermec service personnel.

Warning: 

Explosion Hazard–Batteries must be changed or charged in an area known to be non-hazardous. Use 

ONLY Intermec battery pack Model AB11.

Note

: From time to time additional battery packs may be added to the qualifications of the CK61NI. Contact your 

local Intermec representative if AB11 is no longer available as a replacement battery pack.

Caution: The battery pack used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if mistreated. Do not 
disassemble, heat above 100°C (+212°F) or incinerate. Dispose of used battery packs promptly. Keep away from children.
