Adding a Screen Mapping Trace
Screen mapping traces are useful when troubleshooting the script files. You must
configure a screen mapping session before you can configure a screen mapping trace.
For help, see “Setting Up Screen Mapping Sessions” in Chapter 10.
While you are running screen mapping traces, you can also choose to watch the traces
in a separate window. For help, see “Running Screen Mapping Traces” later in this
chapter.
To add a screen mapping trace
1. From the Trace Configuration dialog box, choose Screen Mapping. The Add Screen
Mapping Trace dialog box appears. In the Session Name - Trace - Monitor - Status
list box, you can see all the screen mapping sessions that you have configured.
2. In the Session box, start any screen mapping sessions that you need by selecting the
session and then choosing Start.
Note:
You may need to start a session even if you do not want to run a trace on it
because the session that you are tracing may be dependent on it.
3. Choose which screen mapping sessions that you want to trace by selecting the
session and checking the Trace check box. The Trace column status for the session
changes to Yes.
4. Choose which screen mapping sessions whose traces you also want to watch in a
separate window by selecting the session and checking the Monitor check box. The
Monitor column status for the session changes to Yes.
5. Choose Close. The trace appears in the Configured Traces list box.
