This is the recommended maximum
thickness. Thicker web may be used at
the possible expense of an impaired
printout quality. However, the stiffness
is also important. A stiff web limits the
maximum thickness and vice versa.

A paper roll fitted inside the printer should normally be wound with
the labels or thermal coating facing outwards. An exception is thin,
flexible, non-dispensing media, like baggage tags, where paper
rolls with the thermal layer facing inwards are strongly recom-
mended.
An external paper roll may be wound with the labels or thermal
coating facing either outwards or inwards, although the latter case
is to prefer. For fan-folds the only restrictions to be observed is the
web width and thickness, which should be the same as for internal
paper rolls.
Important! Any external paper supply should be well protected
against sand, grit etc. Even very small but hard foreign particles
may cause severe harm to the delicate printhead.
