Unpacking & Assembly 

 
 

Unpacking 

 
After removal from the carton please check that you have been supplied with the 
following main parts.  
 
1. 

The main frame with front castors attached. 

 
2. 

Foot rigging:    

C650     

Swing away & detachable legrests 

 
3. 

Rear drive wheels: 

C650    

 24” x 1-3/8”   Spoke wheels  

 

 
 
 

Assembly 

 
Please assemble the main parts mentioned as per the following procedure and check the 
assembly for normal operation. 
 
1. 

Mount the swing away legrests as shown in Fig 8. 

2. 

Install the two rear drive wheels as shown in Fig 9 / 10 / 11. 

 
 
 

General Operation 

 
1. 

Hold the two armrests with your hands as Fig 13 shows. 

2. 

Extend the armrests outwards as  Fig 14 shows. 

3. 

Push down on the seat rails to ensure the seat opens fully and locks into the 

 

receivers on the wheelchair side frames as Fig 15 shows. 

4. 

Swing the legrests around to the front of the chair and ensure that they lock 

 into 

place. 

 
To fold the wheelchair for storage or transportation 
 
1. 

Fold up the foot plates and unlock the levers which position the legrests. 

 

Swing the foot plates and legrests away.  Either leave the foot plates in this 

 

position or remove them completely by lifting each legrest vertically to clear 

 

the pivot bush as Fig 16 shows. 

 
2. 

Take hold of the centre of the seat upholstery, one hand at the front and the 

 

other at the rear, pull the seat upholstery up vertically as Fig 18/19 shows.

 

 
 3. 

The rear drive wheels can be removed if required. This Invacare chair is 

supplied  

with quick release axles, to remove the drive wheels simply hold the 

wheel and  

depress the large button in the centre of the axle.  Whilst the release button is  
depressed withdraw the axle and remove the wheel as Fig 11 shows.
