5.4 Removing/Installing the Back Frame
Removing
1.
Fold the back down. Refer to 4.3 Unfolding/Folding the Back,
page 31.
2.
Loosen rear seat upholstery screw, plastic washer, coved spacer,

and two short mounting screws,

but DO NOT remove.
3.
Remove the spring pin assembly
C
that secures the back angle
plates
D
to the seat rails
E

4.
Remove the back assembly
F
from the wheelchair.
Installing
1.
Insert backframe
F
into lock down folding back latches

using
two short mounting screws

2.
Install the spring pin assembly
C
through the back angle plate
D
and seat rail
E
.
3.
Install the rear seat upholstery screw, plastic washer, and coved
spacer
A
through the back angle plate
D
to the seat rail
E
.
4.
Perform STEPS 1- 3 for remaining back angle plate

.
5.
Tighten spring pin assembly
C
enough to secure the backframe
F
to the seat rail
E
, while allowing the back
F
to fold properly.
6.
Securely tighten the locknut on the rear seat upholstery screw

while holding the rear seat upholstery screw
A
from rotating.
7.
Repeat STEPS 17 - 18 for remaining back angle plate

8.
Unfold back to upright position. Refer to 4.3 Unfolding/Folding
the Back, page 31.
