5.13 Removing/Installing the Fork Assembly
–
If replacing a fork, note the mounting position of the
existing front caster for installation of the new fork.
Removing Fork Assembly
1.
Remove the front caster from the fork. Refer to 5.12
Removing/Installing/Repositioning the Caster Assemblies, page
70.
2.
Perform one of the following:
•
Standards Forks — Remove locknut

securing the fork

from the fork stem

Suspension Fork (Detail “B”)

Unscrew fork stem

from head tube

One Sided Fork (Detail “C”)

Unscrew fork stem

from head tube

Installing Fork Assembly
WARNING!

Use Loctite™242 on threads on fork stem

when
reinstalling the suspension fork or one sided fork into
the head tube

. Otherwise, the fork

may become
loose and disengage from the head tube

. Possible
injury or damage could result.
