Invacare® I-Fit
9 Product Description
Invacare® I-Fit is a shower stool / shower chair composed of
four anti-slip height adjustable feet and a plastic seat and
backrest (if applicable).

Installing the Legs (Fig. 2)
CAUTION!
Risk of Trapping
– Take care during assembly.
1.
Allow the shower chair to adjust to room temperature,
if necessary.
2.
Place the seat

upside down on a flat, stable surface
(floor or table).
3.
Position one leg

over one socket

in the seat and
align.
4.
Push the leg down into the socket until it is fully
engaged, and the locking tabs

latch the openings

with an audible click.
5.
Pull up on the leg to ensure that it has fully locked

into place.
6.
Repeat steps 2-5 for the remaining three legs.
Adjusting Leg Extension Height — Increase Leg Height (Fig.
3)
1.
Rotate the leg extension tip

counterclockwise.

Use the number reference

in the leg extension

adjust the leg height. Refer to detail “

”.
3.
Repeat steps 1-2 for the remaining three legs.
CAUTION!
Risk of Falling
– Make sure that all four legs are adjusted to the

Installing the Backrest — Model 9781E only (Fig. 4)
1.
Before installing the backrest
A
, install and adjust the
legs so the shower chair is level and stable. See Installing
the legs and adjusting leg extension height on Fig. 3.

Position the backrest into the slot

3.
Push down on the backrest until it snaps securely into
the slot in the seat with an audible click.
If both compression buttons

are visible, the
backrest is attached properly. If the compression
buttons are not visible, apply pressure to the backrest
until it snaps into the slot in the seat.
Removing the Backrest — Model 9781E only (Fig. 5)

Locate and depress both compression buttons

11 Maintenance
11.1 General Maintenance Information
This product is maintenance-free, provided that the cleaning
and disinfection instructions are adhered to.
11.2 Cleaning and Disinfection
General Safety Information
CAUTION!
Risk of Contamination
– Take precautions for yourself and use
appropriate protective equipment.
IMPORTANT!
Wrong fluids or methods can harm or damage
the product.
– All cleaning agents and disinfectants used must
be effective, compatible with one another and
must protect the materials they are used to
clean.
– Never use corrosive fluids (alkalines, acid etc.)
or abrasive cleaning agents. We recommend
an ordinary household cleaning agent such as
dishwashing liquid, if not specified otherwise in
the cleaning instructions.
– Never use a solvent (cellulose thinner, acetone
etc.) that changes the structure of the plastic
or dissolves the attached labels.
– Always make sure that the product is completely
dried before taking it into use again.
For cleaning and disinfection in clinical or long-term
care environments, follow your in-house procedures.
Cleaning Intervals
IMPORTANT!
Regular cleaning and disinfection enhances
smooth operation, increases the service life and
prevents contamination.
Clean and disinfect the product
– regularly while it is in use,
– before and after any service procedure,
– when it has been in contact with any body
fluids,
– before using it for a new user.
Cleaning Instruction
1.
Remove the legs and backrest from the shower chair.
2.
Use water and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to clean the
shower chair.
3.
Dry with a cloth.
Cleaning in a clinical Environment
In addition to cleaning as described above we
recommend cleaning the product prior to the use by
another patient, after ending of the period of use or
on a regular basis (depending on which occurs first) at
•
90 °C for 1 minute
•
85 °C for 3 minutes
•
80 °C for 10 minutes
in the autoclave.
CAUTION!
Risk of burning Skin
– Allow the product to cool after cleaning in the
washing machine or autoclave.
