Using the Fold Down Back Canes
WARNING
The back MUST be locked securely in place before using the wheelchair.
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 9.2.
1. Perform one of the following:
• Unfold - Push/pull the back toward rear of wheelchair until it locks in place.
• Fold - Pull up on the back release latches and push the back toward the front of the
wheelchair.

Changing the Back Angle
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 9.3 on page 48.
WARNING
The following procedure must be performed by a qualified technician.
The seat depth and back angle of the wheelchair, as well as the large wheel position
directly relate to the stability of the wheelchair. Any change to one or any combina-
tion of the three may cause the wheelchair to decrease in stability. Use EXTREME
caution when using a new seating position for the first time.
1. Loosen, but do not remove the rear hex screw that secures the back angle plate to the
wheelchair frame.
2. Remove the front hex screw, washer, and locknut that secure the back angle plate to
the wheelchair frame.
