Handrim Replacement
1.
Remove the rear wheel from the wheelchair. Refer to Refer to Removing/Installing Rear Wheels on page 46.
2.
Remove all air from the tube by pressing down on the pin in the
centef of the valve stem.
3.
While carefully holding the tire, tube and rim strip to one side, hold
the allen screws and remove the locknuts that secure the handrim
to the rear wheel.
4.
Remove the existing handrim.
5.
Install new handrim by reversing STEPS 2-4.
6.
Inflate the tire to the recommended psi.
WARNING
The tire must be fully deflated before any disassembly procedures can be performed - otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
WARNING
DO NOT inflate tire until it is completely assembled -
otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
Recommended tire pressure is listed on the side wall
of the tire. DO NOT overinflate the tires. Failure to
follow these suggestions may cause thetire to
explode and cause bodily harm.
DO NOT ride on a flat or underinflated tires. Riding
on flat or underinflated tires can cause injury, as well
as, damage to the tire, tube and wheels.
