HARDENED GROUND:
1. Choose a flat even spot where you want to pitch the tent. Make sure
the spot is big enough to do it (check the dimensions given in a Fig. 1
page 11).
2. Open the bag with your tent . Prepare the measuring tool and ballast
bags.
3. If you want to pitch a tent on a hardened ground, such as pavement,
asphalt or concrete, you will need to place 4 ballast bags (30 kg each)
near each corner of the tent. (Fig. 21). Ballast bags are not part of the
equipment and must be bought separetely. Mind that attaching a tent
to the ground with ballast bags is not as reliable as attaching it with
anchors. This is why, for safety reasons, a tent ballasted with bags
should be supervised all the time.
4. Due to the necessity of attaching the tent to ballast bags, you need
3 people to assemble the tent on hardened ground. Mark the central
point of the pole using a piece of chalk. The first person’s task is to
hold the spike with the black marked carabiner in the central point
all the time during measuring.
5. Mark the 8 points one by one following the rules from page 11
(points 3-12). Instead of driving anchors into the ground, mark every
anchorage point with chalk. For tents with two or more poles, first
define the places to put the poles, then mark the anchorage points
(according to Fig. 5).
6. Put the ballast bags near the defined anchorage points. The ring
at the tape fastened to each set of ballast bags must be exactly in
a peviously marked anchoring point.
7. Unfold the canopy in the space defined by the ballast bags.

8. Fasten the corners of the tent to the anchors using the loosened ones
as much as possible tensioning straps attached to sand ballast bags.
9. Follow the steps described in points 14-21 (page 12).
10. When you embed the pole in the base, set it vertically. The pole axis
must be in the spot defined as the central point of the tent.
11. Be sure to tighten the straps on the opposite sides and not in a row.
12. Use 3 sand ballast bags to ballast the base of the pole. For a tent
with 2 or more poles, use sand ballast bags for each base.

8. Fasten the rings at the tent corners to the chains at the tapes attached
to ballast bag sets.
9. Follow the steps described in points 14-22 (pages 13). For tents with
two or more poles, repeat the steps for each pole.
