Erase Disks provides two options for irrecoverably deleting all data on your Iomega
StorCenter device: Quick Erase and Secure Erase. The default option, Quick Erase,
permanently deletes all record of existing or deleted data, users, and passwords. The
Secure Erase option takes significantly longer, but provides an added security benefit by
overwriting all disks with random data in addition to permanently erasing all data on the
disks to prevent recovery of existing or deleted data, users, and passwords.
Since this operation renders all data irrecoverable, to prevent accidental data loss you must
manually delete all folders from your Iomega StorCenter device prior to performing a disk
erase operation. You can use the disk erase feature only to erase the disks internal to the
Iomega StorCenter device. You cannot use this feature to erase any external storage
devices that may be connected.
