CHAPTER 7: UTIL
Page 1: Send Data As Midi To A Midi Sys Ex Storage Device (Send Out Midi?)
The display shows
SEND OUT MIDI?
To
convert the iDM02's Pattern and Song
information into MIDI system exclusive data
and send this data through the MIDI out,
press the PLAY button. The display will say
SENDING MIDI…
to confirm that data is
being sent.
After the transfer is complete, the iDM02 display reverts to either Song or Pattern mode
(whichever had been selected prior to saving).
Background
This data is meaningful only to an iDM01 or Alesis SR16. There is no way
to re-load this data into an iDM02, since it has no external MIDI input.
Page 2: Check Available Memory (Free Mem)
The display will show the amount of free
memory available.
Some operations may not be possible even if
a small amount of memory is left. This is
because the iDM02 duplicates a Pattern
before it is modified. Determine whether you
can erase any unwanted Patterns or Songs
to free up some memory.
Clear Memory/Re-Initialize Parameters
This operation clears the memory and re-initializes all parameters. It can also be a useful
service technique to restore the iDM02 to normal operation if it "locks up" due to some
unforeseen event like a static electricity jolt or power supply interruption.
All existing Patterns, Songs, and drum assignments will be lost when you clear memory.
To re-initialize, turn off power and wait a few seconds. Press and hold the PLAY and
ERASE buttons while turning on power. Continue holding these buttons down for at least
three seconds after turning on power.
Check Software Version
Press FILL at any time in the Util menu to
show the software version. Please check
