(1) Starter switch
(4) Glow position
(2) OFF position
(5) START position
(3) ON position
h. Turn the starter switch to the START position ( ), and
the starter is activated in order to crank the engine.
IMPORTANT: Do not hold the starter switch more than
10 seconds in the START position ( ).
When the engine fails to start, return the
starter switch to the OFF ( ) position and
wait at least 20 seconds before the next
attempt. If you do not, the battery will be
discharged too fast.
i. As soon as the engine starts, release the starter
switch. The starter switch will return automatically to
the ON position ( ).
j. Make sure that the battery charge lamp and engine oil
pressure warning lamp turn off.
IMPORTANT: If
the
engine oil pressure warning lamp
continue turning on, stop the engine im-
mediately and check the engine lubrica-
tion system. (Refer to page 46 and 47)
k. When the engine starts, let the engine idle at half
throttle position for about 5 minutes at least.
IMPORTANT: • Never turn the starter switch to the
START position ( ) after the engine
starts, or the starter motor will be
damaged.
• Insufficient idling time will cause poor
lubrication of the engine due to high
viscosity of engine oil, which will lead to
a shorter service life of the engine.
CAUTION: While engine warming up, be sure
to apply the parking brake (GE TYPE) or
the parking lock (E TYPE) to avoid the lawn
mower from travelling unexpectedly.
NOTE: Warming up criteria and atmospheric tempera-
tures:
