3.2 Specified Conditions of Use
The MaxiFil is designed to extract and filter welding fumes generated during E-welding at
their point of origin. In principle, the device can be used in all working procedures in which
welding fumes are released. However, it is important to ensure that no "sparks" are drawn
into the filter unit from e.g. a grinding process.
The welding fumes emitted during the work process are released from the suction hood.
Along with the exhaust air, they flow into the filter unit. They are passed through the filter
element which also extracts the fine, respirable smoke particles with a discharge efficiency of
more than 99%. The cleaned air is sucked in by the fan and is returned to the work area.
Only units operating with the so-called circulating air process tested and approved according
to the relevant authority regulations may be used to extract welding fumes with carcinogenic
particles as generated when welding alloyed steels (e.g. stainless steel).

T he Max iF il IF A has been approved for the ex trac tion of welding fumes whic h are generated
when welding
low and high alloy steels and meet the requirements of welding fumes
extraction class W3, as per DIN EN ISO 15012-1.
When extracting welding fumes containing carcinogenic ingredients (e.g., chromates, nickel
oxides, etc.) the requirements of TRGS 560 (Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances) and
TRGS 528 (Welding Works) must be complied with.
The technical data includes the dimensions and further details for the MaxiFil which have to
be observed.

on maintenance and servicing,
described in this manual.
Any other or further use is considered to be improper use. The operating
company of the MaxiFil shall be solely responsible for any damages resulting
thereof. This also applies to unauthorized modifications to the MaxiFil.
