P a g e - S e i t e
The cable is now ready for installation. Please observe minimum cable spacing and
bending radius for installation as well as maximum indicated circuit length per type.
Refer to product data sheet for additional information.
For field termination with longer cold lead requirements we recommend to use our
supply leads suitable to use with the termination kit.
Note: The heating cable must be in good contact with the object to be heated over
the entire installation!
Assembly Method 2
Heating Cable with additional cold lead
The following assembly method is recommended by TXI for the product. Other methods may
be applied according to specifications or as advised. The following method describes the
assembly of the product with an additional cold lead using a connection kit
a.)
Process for un-braided cable:
1.
Follow steps 1 through 3 under Assembly Method 1a.).
2.
Indicate Contact Point at end of heated section for electrical termination side.
Indicate next contact point and cut cable directly behind it to get a maximum of cold
lead length (approx. 490 mm). Mark 70 mm at the end of termination side (Picture
19). Strip outer sheath of cable with knife and remove coiled wire in stripped section
(Picture 20).
3.
Prepare Cold Lead, cut to desired length. Mark 70 mm at the end of termination side.
Strip outer sheath of cable with knife (Picture 21).
4.
Cut conductor wires of heating cable to 40 mm and shorten one conductor by 5 mm
length (Picture 22). Repeat this operation for cold lead cable with same lengths
(Picture 23.)

5.
Strip conductor wires 7 mm on heating cable and cold lead. Fit small black shrinking
tube (2x 30 mm) over longer conductor wire (Picture 24 and 25).
6.
Connect heating cable and cold lead using connector and crimp tool (Picture 26)
7.
Move shrinking tubes in centre over crimp connectors and shrink to fit using hot air
gun (Picture 27).
