Installing the film roll
After fitting the roll on its upper (Fig. 19) and lower mounts, rotate the knob to
lock it into place (Fig. 20 - Pos. A).
To lock the knob rotate the handwheel (Fig. 20 - Pos. B).
CAUTION
The only function of the upper roll centring cone (Fig. 19) is to prevent the roll from
becoming dislodged from its seat and falling while it is being unwound; the cone
should never be overtightened because it is NOT responsible for braking the roll.
Film threading
Run the film through the path shown in the
following diagrams.
The roll can be installed so that it unwinds
by rotating clockwise or anti-clockwise,
depending on the tacky side of the film.

Film tension adjustment
The film tension between the pallet and the
film carriage can be adjusted by turning the
knob shown in Figure 21.
