Safety advice
If components strictly correlated to sa-
fety are damaged or deformed, such as
the frame, forks, handlebar, saddle sup-
port, crank wheels or pedals. Do not try
and repair them; substitute them before
utilising the bicycle again.

your ITALJET dealer.
Is the bicycle in order?
Every time before using the bicycle
make sure that it is in good condition and
carry out the following checks (for further
information regarding the single points,
refer to the relative chapters):
•
The locknut of the saddle properly
tightened? (refer to the paragraph
“Adjustment of the saddle”).
•
The brakes operate correctly?
•
The lighting system works properly?
•
The battery is installed correctly?
• The pressure of the tyres is the
correct pressure? (Refer to the pa-
ragraph “Checking and in ating the
tyres”).
• Is the bicycle in order? (Refer to
the paragraph “Adjustment of the
chain”).
•
The pedals and crank wheel are ok?
(Refer to the paragraph “ Assembly
of the pedals”).
•
After a fall or an accident make sure
that the bicycle is not bent or dama-
ged (frame, handlebars, wheel rims,
etc.).
•
If one of the previous points is not
respected, do not utilise the bicycle
and contact your ITALJET dealer.
ATTENTION:
What to be careful of whilst ri-
ding?
You can start your journey if the bicycle
has been correctly checked. Avoiding
dangerous situations depends on your
riding behaviour:
•
Familiarise yourself with your vehi-
cle.
WARNING:
•
Always respect the laws of the Hi-
ghway Code.
•
When making a turn, give plenty of
time for signalling left or right.
•
Always bear in mind that the mobility
of the bicycle can mislead other road
users. Be very careful of the beha-
viour of other vehicles.
•
Ride with prudence and conform to
the circumstances.
•
Be careful to not skid whilst braking
in a curve.
•
Always keep a safe distance.
• Change down into a lower gear
when going up a hill.
•
What must I wear?
• Many accidents occur because
cyclists are not seen in time, therefo-
re it is recommended to wear brightly
coloured and clearly visible clothing.
Do not wear loose, apping clothing
that could become entwined in the
chain or interfere with the handle-
bars, pedals or wheels. Always wear
a helmet and make sure that it con-
forms to the SNELL and ANSI safety
norms or the new CE norms. Wear
cyclist’s glasses.
