TIPS:

•  When you first begin to use the balance board, you may want to hold onto the back of a chair for
support or stand in a doorway so that you can touch each side of the frame. Always use caution
when using the board and take steps to protect yourself in case of a fall.
•  Always maintain proper upright posture. Keep your head erect, back straight and knees bent. Keep
your eyes focused straight ahead to avoid losing balance.
•  Begin by performing exercises with a small range of motion until you become comfortable with
the board. Basic side-to-side, front-to-back, and circular rotation movements are all excellent
 starter

exercises.

Using the Balance Board

Specifications

15.3" diameter
Height: 3.1"
Weight capacity: 440 lbs.

Side to Side

Position your feet, about shoulder
width apart, on the board. Shift your
weight from side to side to slowly
move the board.

Front to Back

Position your feet, about shoulder
width apart, on the board. Shift your
weight from front to back to slowly
move the board.

Circular

Use controlled movements to make
the board rotate in a circle.

Calf Stretch

Position the board in back of you.
Place one foot on the floor and the
heel of the other foot on the board.
Gently lean forward until you feel a
stretch in your calf. Repeat several
times and then switch feet.

Balanced Stance

Stand so that the edge of the board
does not touch the floor. As you become
more proficient, add variations like squats,
overhead arm reaches, and balancing
on one foot.
