Re-Arming
After use of the back-up ROV releasing system, the latter must be re-armed as follows:
Procedure
Step Action
1.
Thoroughly degrease and clean the system and in particular the housing of the two web
flanges (ref.: 910 2709C) in the web flange supporting plate (ref.: 910 3008).
2.
On the handle used for the releasing operation:
Remove the pieces of the ROV locking pin (ref.: 910 2729B) from the ROV handle.
Loosen the ROV handle screw a few turns in order to free the handle stop-piece.
Perform an operating test of the ROV pin (ref.: 910 2711) over an angle of 180°, then
restore the handle in released position. (Black part of the handle at the opposite of the
black part corresponding to the home position of the frame).
3.
Grease the parts which have been cleaned with a grease for submerged knuckle joints
(e.g. CASTROL SPHEEROL T6 for wet environment, grade NLGI2).
4.
Check or fit the spot faces of the ROV pin (ref.: 910 2711) in line with unit axis.
5.
Rock the two web flanges (ref.: 910 2709) into their housing in the supporting plate (ref.:
910 3008), engaging the spot faces of ROV pin (ref.: 910 2711) into the said web flanges
(ref.: 910 2709).
6.
While holding the assembly, restore the handle to its home position, turning it by 180°.
The spot faces of the pin (ref.: 910 2711) immobilize the web flanges (ref.: 910 2709).
The black painted section of the handle is now situated on the home position black
section and safety locking position.
7.
Re-tighten the ROV handle screw, care being exercised so that it will properly locate into
the stop groove.
8.
Fit the ROV PVC locking pin (ref.: 910 2729B) in position in the handle, and secure the
two cotter pins size 2.5 x 32.
