causes
Solution(s)
There is no display on
the TT801 screen
Power supply problem
and/or LCD display
failure
1.
Make sure the internal battery is charged.
2.
Check and change the battery fuse.
3.
If no improvement, contact the IXSEA support.
AC/DC yellow indicator
does not light on
AC fuse and/or AC
charger problem
1.
Check that the power supply cable of TT801 unit is
correctly plugged.
2.
Check that your power supply is delivering tension.
3.
Check and change the AC fuse.
4.
If no improvement, contact the IXSEA support.
TT801 does not
transmit acoustic
bursts
Connection problem or
Electronic/Transducer
failure
1.
Check that the transducer cable is correctly connected to
the TT801 unit.
2.
Check the capacitance of the tran cable
assembly.
3.
If no improvement, contact the IXSEA support.
TT801 does not
receive acoustic
pulses
Connection problem,
Electronic/Transducer
failure, Configuration
problem or problem with
environmental conditions
1.
Check that the transducer cable is correctly connected to
the TT801 unit.
2.
Check the receiving configuration of the TT801 cabinet: Is
the receiving channel set to the expected signal (type of
pulse and/or frequency).
3.
Is the noise level at the surface dunking transducer too
high? Lower the dunking transducer and/or find a new
location to deploy the dunking transducer. Do a noise
check with the headphones.
4.
Surface current may be streaming the dunking
transducer, such that it is flying at the air-water interface
with bubbles. Adding ballast to the dunking transducer
may reduce this.
5.
A surface thermocline maybe refracting the
acknowledgement pulses away from the surface. Lower
the dunking transducer below the thermocline layer.
6.
Other acoustic system (Echo-sounder,...) may be
operating in the same frequency band.
7.
Check the capacitance of the tran cable
assembly
8.
Connect the headphones. Knock several times on the
transducer and listen to the “noise” received by the
transducer. Do you ear something?
9.
No, contact the IXSEA support.
