3. Operation
3.1 The system
A balanced ventilation system consists of:
• Outdoor air
(A)
and removal of polluted air
(B)
.
• A WHR heat recovery unit
(C)
.
• Intake valves in the bedroom and living rooms
(D)
.
• Exhaust valves in the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and storage area
(E)
.
• Non-powered extractor hood with switch
(F)
.
3a.
3.2 Heat recovery unit
• External casing of coated plate
(H)
.
• 4 connections for air ducts
(I)
.
• 2 EU3 filters for air purification
(J)
.
• 2 energy-efficient DC motors with high efficiency wheel. (Not visible,
internal).
• Counterflow exchanger (heat exchanger) with over 95% thermal effi-
ciency (Not visible, internal).
• Operating panel with display for reading data and setting procedures
(K)
.
• Model plate
(is not visible)
.
• Condensation extractor
(M)
.
• Sticker air connections
(is not visible)
.
• Perilex plug
(O)
.
• WHR R model is for right-hand air connections to the house.
• WHR L model is for left-hand air connections to the house.
3b.
3.3 Bypass and heat exchanger
• Polluted air is extracted from the kitchen, toilet(s) and bathroom(s)
(A)
.
• The heat exchanger
(B)
extracts heat from the extracted air.
• Fresh outdoor air is sucked in
(C)
.
• The heat exchanger
(B)
warms the air.
• The fresh warmed air enters the living room and bedrooms
(D)
.
• The HE counterflow heat exchanger
(B)
has high thermal efficiency so
that the intake air does not require heating.
• When the Bypass
(E)
(only available on model WHR B) is activated, the
extracted polluted air is conducted around the exchanger. This enables
refreshing the house with night air during the summer. This so-called
"free cooling" is activated automatically according to a set temperature.
3c.
A-return air, B-Counterflow heat exchanger, C-Outdoor air, D-Intake air, E-Bypass control
and F-Exhaust air
The balanced ventilation system contributes to energy efficiency, a healthy
indoor climate and an optimum living environment, and prevents moisture
problems.
