OPERATION
SAFETY MESSAGES
The instructions in this Owner’s
Manual provide the necessary
steps for the physical operation of the
LaneBlade®. J-Tech highly encourages you to
consult your own company’s/agency’s
recommended operation procedures for this
device which will take into account your
particular operating environment.
Avoid any obstructions and
uneven pavement while using the
LaneBlade® (such as buckled pavement,
expansion joints, speed bumps, raised manhole
covers, etc.).
Never exceed 20mph with the
LaneBlade® deployed.
Be alert for other vehicles around
you. Use your mirrors. Know
what is behind you so you can prepare for what is
ahead.
Before changing lanes, exiting or
reentering traffic, check your
mirrors and over your shoulder to check for blind
spots for near-by vehicles and signal your
intentions allowing other drivers to anticipate
traffic flow and find safe lane positions.
Check traffic behind you as often
as safely possible when using the
LaneBlade®.
Always communicate your
intentions to other drivers.
Operators must be trained in safe
operation of highway
maintenance vehicles, including safe re-entries
into traffic flow from the shoulder of the road.
Always check area around vehicle
for bystanders or equipment
before moving vehicle.
Wear a seatbelt when pushing
debris.
Always push debris with the wings
in their fully deployed position.
Always support the LaneBlade®
with appropriate jack stands when
performing pre-use and post-use inspections.
The LaneBlade® is designed for
pushing debris off the road which,
in some cases, may contain snow and/or gravel. It
is not intended to be used as a snowplow or
grader moving excess amounts of snow, dirt, or
gravel.
Never operate LaneBlade® if the
DVR and Camera system is not
working or if camera is not showing the maul
board.
Ensure the vehicle is equipped
with a type “ABC” fire extinguisher
and that and all operators are trained on the
proper use of a fire extinguisher.
Always check with your safety
department and local authorities
for vehicle operation and use of the LaneBlade® in
your work zone.

signs, speed limits, and authorities
